Buddy of mine found this at the ranch south of Laredo today. After the rains of late we've been finding quite a few. Thought I'd share. Click image for larger version

Bird point is what we were thinking. Any ideas on the age of this point?

It's a Perdiz. Late Prehistoric ca. 1200 AD. Nice point.

That point is called a Perdiz type. It is a true arrowhead shot from a bow and arrow. Many larger points are actually dart (spear) points. Here is a copy and paste from the web for you...

                "Perdiz
                Late Prehistoric arrow point

This well barbed arrow point has a pointed stem
and a triangular blade. The blade edge is sometimes
serrated. Usual size is 3/4" to 1 3/4" long.
Perdiz points were made from 1200 AD to 1500 AD. "

Sweet. Thanks for the info guys. It's amazing what we've got laying around out there. Just holding something like that is amazing. We've also found many spear points and what we think are knives/cutting tools. I'll try and post more this weekend.
