I bought a new lens a while back and the weather has sucked ever since. It was supposed to be sunny this AM so I got up and saw it wasn't but headed to the pond anyway. I have a Great Blue Heron staked out and he was a no-show. I went back to the house and shot this tree rat:
The sun acted like it wanted to come out so I grabbed my flash and headed back to the pond only to find ducks and discover that in a "Senior Moment" I had left my flash by the coffee pot at home. I wanted to do some flash fill shots with the poor light. Oh well!
A few lousy ducks and some focusing practice:
Noise and really bad oral hygene:
A quiet white duck:
Then back home to check the bird feeder and discovered why the cardinals and such have given up hanging around. The closest thing I have to a BB gun is a 7mm Rem Mag
DOF with this 100-400mm is a touchy issue. Some issues for me to overcome.
