Borger is a hole. Pampa isn't near as bad. Amarillo (west side) is fine. Lake Meredith has a decent amount of water now. Be aware that it is a dangerous lake when windy, which is often in the Panhandle in the spring.

You might be able to find some quail or turkey during the times you're there. If you're an NRA member, you might also take a trip over to the Whittington Center in Raton, NM. Just a few hours away.

You have to eat at The Plaza not much else besides Sonic. LOL. Takes lots of lotion for your skin mine starts cracking up in a week in that 10% humidity.

Not much in Borger, not a place to break down and get stuck in for three days, waiting on parts. It's mainly a small oil field town. Some good hunting in the area. It's not that far from Amarillo, I know I would go explore Amarillo. But then you are not far from Okiehoma or New Mexico or Colorado.

Good friend of mine was born and raised in Borger. The way he describes it, you don't break up with a girl, you just loose your turn.

I see it as you are lot closer to NM/CO public lands. Spring bear hunt????
