Is the lens cleaning solution from a camera shop the same as the stuff for eyeglasses, which after all are just coated optics as well? What about the wipes? A lens pen and microfiber cloth has always done the job, but wanted the supplies on hand for a thorough cleaning. I was shopping online at B&H and the zeiss solution looks the same as what I have in the cabinet from before my lasik. I'm also interested to hear what cleaning methods everyone uses too.

I like the zeiss cleaner, I scrub down with soft q-tips in circular motions to lift off mainly water spots and grime then buff out with a microfiber cloth. If I ever have a spot that looks like it could scratch I take extra precaution with a wet q-tip and try to get it off before I start wiping the entire lens.
I tend to clean, depending on usage, about every other month.
