Default Age this guy for me

I don't think he's wide enough, let alone old enough. But I want to convince my hunting buddies to let him walk.

I agree. That's why it's gonna be hard to convince them to let him walk for a year. He might be a monster next year.

I agree on 3.5, and I'm with you on letting him walk ... but I'd have a hard time faulting someone for killing that deer. He's a really cool looking buck. I'd try to get a lease-wide agreement that this particular deer is not to be shot this year. He ought to be easy enough to identify with the 3 muley forks. But, if its just a recommendation (not a hard and fast rule) that he get a pass, I wouldn't at all be surprised to end up seeing him in the bed of a pickup truck.

Deer like that needs to walk just for the sake of breeding.

I see 4.5 more than 3.5 but let him walk either way. Some really cool genetics he can pass on for another year or two.

3 1/2 or 4 1/2 Regardless, what TWO years would do on this deer would be amazing. I'd be sympathetic if this was somebody's best-of-all-time, but if it gets shot by some guy that just HAS to kill a deer every year.....smh

I see people with walls full of 3 1/2 year old 8 and 10 points and I just smh when they say, "Well, if I didn't shoot him someone else would!" I'd rather have two HUGE deer on my wall. But to do that, you have to be willing to let some get away. $.02

If you have to convince yourself they're old/big enough, they're not.
