                Wow. Huisache AKA Sweet Acacia.

                Willing to bet dollars to donuts that it flowers round, sweet-smelling balls come december. Also, bean pods will be black rather than the golden yellow of mesquites.

                              Not enough of a factor to be worthwhile... There are plenty of other plants for deer to eat that are high in protein. The negatives of this "acacia" no matter the exact variety far outweigh the minimal benefits... If you're from East Texas and know how invasive Tallow is, just think Chinese Tallow X10 on steroids!

                                Dont know if it's just a common generic name but around here we call that plant/tree a Huisache. I was out spraying some yesterday. To those that say the thorn is to big it seems that the young plants have them. I could post a pic of mine and its the same but feeling lazy today. If Huisache had any value I would be a very rich man.
