    I would think that your beams should be 4x6 or 4x8 depending on spacing between piers. Then use 2x6 or 2x8 for floor joists. A lot will depend on the weight load.

      I have 3- 2x10 ( doubled up ) beams under my house. My outside beams are doubled up 2x8's.
      I did not build the house but I did rebuild this house. There were no beams under the house but a crap load of block peirs.

        I would run treated (2) 2x8 at 0', 8', and 16'.
        Blocks/piers at 0,5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40
        2x8 floor joist at 19.2 oc...
        1 1/8 sturdy floor over that
        will be there till kingdom come...

        If you could find a differetn product that is local (LVL's & Ijoist) then I would just span the 16' with Ijoist and have the LVLs at each end. Your roof will span 16 easy.
