I've thought about using other strings and bring them to him and have them put on. My concern is having to pay him for setup and if something should go wrong with those I have to pay him for messing with them and also mess with the string maker separately.

What are you putting on your strings, maybe it's not compatible. Put some good old wax on there I bet your fraying disappears.

Fraying started while using wax. Switched to BowPro paste to try and stop it

How often do you lubricate your strings

Maybe your excessive stroking is causing the fraying

Can you post some pics of your strings..... the fraying areas

Sure thing. I will get them when I go to shoot this afternoon.

That looks like wear areas from handling the bow by its string or something making contact with it. Also, rubbing the string back and forth with your fingers will cause that. I'd wax it up good, going one direction and keep shooting.

If anything it is from waxing it with my fingers. I won’t carry a bow by the string for a few diff reasons. I’ll try what you recommended and keep shooting!
