    Recording your hunts

For those of you out there that like to video your hunts with a DSLR what kind of setup do you use? Mic? Lens? Etc might be looking into doing it for the first time this year, I have a Canon t3i that I would use.

I have a Canon Vixia HF G20 and I have been nothing but happy with it.

Since your asking about a mic your only choices are the STM line of lens unless your not bothered by the focus motor sound on video and slower focus. I've tried directional microphones and they still pick up the focus noise of regular lens if the mic is mounted on the camera. If you already have a STM lens try using it, if not, you would be better off investing in a camcorder. While I still take occasion video with my DSLR, I now carry a small handheld video recorder for most video shots.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I'll have to look into some of the STM stuff and possibly a camcorder
