Default # of arrows you practice with??

I was wondering how many arrows you guys use while practicing. I usually use three and find myself rushing the shot to get to the next arrow! I guess just trying to shoot as much as possible? Should I practice with one arrow and then make the shot count then retrieve the arrow and shoot again? Thanks Jason

I shoot 3. I use three to check my grouping. Don't rush your shots. But practice being quick to anchor consistently. Sometimes you dont get much time to draw and release. You need to practice enough to where it comes naturally.

I use 3 at most and not all on the same target. practice is to build form. that is where accuracy comes from.

I use only one arrow. It makes me concentrate on every shot. I shoot it, go retrieve it and then shoot again, go retrieve it, etc, etc.

I use 5
When I was a kid I had 6 and lost 1
So I shot all the time with 5 until it just became a habit
I have lots of arrows now but still grab 5 every time

I have 5 bulls on my DeadStop target with a nickle size black dot colored in the center of each one. One arra for each spot then pull and shoot again. Sometimes 1 round - sometimes 6 or 7 rounds or till I get tired.

No matter how many I start with....I usually end with less. I put one in the pasture by glancing off the Reinardt ball last week....which followed a friend of his who sailed over the 30 yard target the week before that! Oh, and I missed the running pig as well, but I might still find that one.

I practice with 6 arrows and use 2 each for different distances. I have targets set up at 10-15-20 and shoot two per target. That way I don't over practice on one distance and under practice on another.

Well up until yesterday I used 6, my hound pups somehow got my pocet quiver off the table outside at my range while I was working in the garage and had a field day with my arrows and quiver.

I started out with 4 this afternoon to work on a form and/or tab issue. After busting nocks on 2 of them I decided to quit before it got too expensive. I guess the issue got worked out.
Luckily, the hits weren't square enough for robin hoods and the shafts are OK.

When practicing for hunting, I may ise several arrows, but aim at different spots.

In the off season I will take 6+ with me and walk around the back yard and shoot at different angels and distances but the week before and during season only one arrow one shot maybe 2 to 3 times a day. Make it count and think about it.

4~6 (not important)
when I was competing (NFAA, PAA) I shot 100 arrows every night (61~67; 73~83)
league on Wednesday nights (5 per round)
club shoots on Sundays (4 per target, 28 targets)
tournaments all through the year, but mainly in the spring and early summer

I still try to go out and shoot every day, usually in the afternoon or early evening
I probably shoot around 30~40 arrows when I step out back

I also shoot a lot of judos at crushed cans in the yard at different unknown distances
(my favorite game / practice) can you say dead squirrel!

Rigth now i am shooting a dozen arrows to build my strength up. i had a 1 year layoff from archery, and i am concentrating on building strength. With accuracy i have 9 arrows left out of my dozen cause i hit the metal frame on the target cause i still have a weak bow arm.
