My dad bought an east texas property about 4 years ago and we've been working away making it ours..it was never hunted before and was thick.
We've taken hogs and coyote but no deer until today.
This is the best buck we've seen on camera since he has owned it and he took a great shot at him as the buck ran a small doe today. He has lost a good bit of weight since we saw him last (pre-rut)...weighed in at around 175lbs.
I was wrapping up work so I wasn't able to be out there with him today so he only snapped a picture to send me to let me know he got him. He is in his mid-sixties and drug him through some rough stuff by himself...awfully proud of him.
I'd love to get him a shoulder mount of it...any advice on a good taxidermist between Keller and Tyler?
