Why does dealing with car dealerships have to be such a pain?

Same old story, Parkway Chevrolet shows all kind of incentives/deals for new Chevy trucks. Shows the price, I contact sales and ask what each incentive means and how to get them. She doesnt know, has to ask boss. I check it out and 2 of them are for GM employees only. Does not state that anywhere on dealer site.

Find a decent looking used one on Lonestar Chevy site. Click their "check availability" button and give my info. Salesman responds with "when do you want to test drive" etc. I reply back, and ask specifically, is this vehicle available, and at your location right now. After a bit he replies that it has been sold. I truly hate these crooked mother****ers!

Their sole aim is to get you in their store. They think they have the upper hand if that happens.
My last three trucks have been completely internet transactions. However, almost every contact with 'internet specialists' at dealerships ends up with them trying to get me to come to their store.
    Very frustrating.

Heard a statistic on the Jerry Reynolds show that Sewell in Dallas area sells 33% of their autos over the internet/phone then delivers the car. Buyer never sets foot on the property.

Me, if I buy a new vehicle, I find the one i want, do my research on pricing and go in and make an offer. If they do not take it, I walk. I have walked on a difference of $100. That just want you there to try and set their hooks in you.

Parkway Chevrolet is a joke. Never go there.

I bought a new truck there. There was some very minor dings on the truck. So minor, I probably should have let it go. They assured me they would fix these issues, even gave it to me in writing. I brought the truck back 2 days later to fix these minor issues. While the truck was in their care, for 30mins while I waited, they put a 1 1/2" scratch on the side. I noticed this scratch from 20 yds away and immediately notified them.

The salesmen agreed the scratch was not there before they took it and they would be able to "buff" it out. (we did a walk around before)

After they worked on it for another 30mins, the sales manager (Mike), came out and told me it was my fault and that I scratched it. I asked my salesmen ***, we just did a walk around. The salesmen acted like non of the previous converstions happened. I argued with them for an hour and still left with a scratched new truck.

I emailed all the corporate big wigs. Their emails were easy to figure out. (first initial, last name@parkway.....) No response. I notified the BB and yelp, which didn't help at all.

Word of mouth is all I got. I've convinced several people to go else where since.

Lost the truck to Harvey and they still call me once a month to sell me something.

I like the old “I just sold the last one 30 minutes ago” when they run these specials on taking off discounts from MRSP value and they say they have x number in stock. Yeah it’s a pain but do your homework and use leverage against other competition. Good luck

I found a rare JCW Mini Cooper online, under 10k miles, for ~$20k. Emailed them, got the same "c'mon down and drive it". I asked what was wrong with it, because the same car was going for above 30k. Turns out it was "sold that day". Lol, no, you never had it.

Just like others said, go in, make an offer, and if they don't accept, walk right back out.

I understand that, but Im not driving 40 miles each way without a reason. That truck was the reason, then attempting to mislead guaranteed I wont deal with them.

Not enough bandwidth to tell our story. Will in service has been the only consolation.

My nephew was there about 2 weeks ago trying to buy his first vehicle. After 2 hours the best they could do was 900 a month.....for a used 1/2 ton truck. When he walked they told him they would not allow him to waste 2 hours of their time and were going to "black mark" his credit so that no one would finance him.

I have bought my last 3 cars using True Car.com. The only negotiating I have to do is on the trade in. It usually takes 2-3 weeks of emails till someone wants your business enough to lower it enough.

Not sure if it has to be a Chevy but I’d suggest tomball ford, bought 3 of my last 4 there, made the deal over the phone. Went and looked at the vehicle and signed the papers after verifying it was what I wanted
They are running some good deals right now.
