Here thats called felony theft, the range officer has zero authority to steal a firearm. He would be lucky to survive the encounter in the great state of Texas. I would be livid if I were you. It takes a few minutes to check the firearm by inspecting the parts and function.

I don't understand why standing at a firing range they can't figure out if a rifle is semi or full auto!?!?!!?

well it is stupi. nothing easier that check if an ar is full auto... but they had no lue and had to take it with them...

The range offcer will get big problems i can promise!

Well still havent heard anything. a friend f mime who is also a LEO said it can take up to 14 month and alot ofpaperwork to get itback
