Good Deal?

I'm looking for an SLR camera for my wife's birthday in Feb. and ran across this today. Is it a good deal?

plus a $50 mail in rebate? I dont know canon, but that seems like a heck of deal. They have the camera and the 18-55 refurbished at $499. So looks to me like you get a 55-200 and all new for $65 more.

That is a good deal for new and canon is a good camera.
