    First elk in the books

Finally got a chance to make my first elk trip last week. We worked hard and put in a lot of miles, but had and absolute blast doing it. Came down to the final minutes on the last evening, but I was finally able to connect with this fella. I think I'm hooked!

Awesome elk. There is really nothing more exciting than that. I got lucky and killed a giant the first year that I went. It scored 361". Needless to say I was hooked from then on. Congratulations

I have been told it is a mix of turkey (calling and decoying), rabbit (lots of walking) and deer hunting (buck fever from size of animal) done in beautiful country.

                      Nice bull! Congrats!
