I had seen this buck a few times but never close enough to get a shot and had been looking for him all season. This morning he was in rut and came in quickly chasing does. I watched him for ten minutes following a doe. I could have put an arrow in him but I kept thinking one more year and put my bow down.

Maybe I should have shot, cause I know the neighbors would have no problem doing it. We are all low fence around here and most bucks don't make 5 years old. Well maybe next year. Sorry for the bad picture.

Believe me, the argument “if I don’t shoot them my neighbors will” is my life. But I will tell you this, he wouldn’t have grown an inch if you shot him this season.

Good choice. I got in my last hunt this weekend and watched a few nice bucks at the feeder. It was kinda comforting knowing that with the season winding down they will probably live to grow another year.
