    Puma Clothing

Has anyone worn Pnuma clothing? I'm looking at doing a caribou hunt in Alaska and need to upgrade my wardrobe. I'm looking at Sitka, Kuiu and First Lite as well.

    Thanks.

I use everything Kuiu from base layer to tent. Very impressed and really like how ultra light it is.
Haven't used Pnuma but just take a look at this equivalent insulation layer weight differences.

    Pnuma at 25.6 oz -- https://www.pnumaoutdoors.com/insula...ng-jacket-camo

    Kuiu at 6.4 oz -- http://www.kuiu.com/insulated-huntin...rBrown#start=6

More than a pound of extra weight just in that little jacket. Their stuff is impressive when it comes to ultra light, I own this kuiu jacket and it packs down to nothing and is super warm.

How much does weight factor for you? It does costs a lot more to go ultra light.

That’s a huge weight difference for a jacket

Weight is definitely a factor for me.

        Thanks.

I got a lot of mine off ebay. Got the ultrastar 1P tent the other day off ebay. Their sizes tend to run smaller. I normally wear large and got everything XL. I am comfortable in 34 pants and get 38 on kuiu. I prefer the pants to be larger while hunting so I can layer. Their packs are amazing.

Pick up the First Lite Uncompaghre.. It's the best jacket I've ever owned in my life.. Should be plenty warm for anything, but if u want something a little warmer check out the Kifaru Lost Parka.. Lost Parka is a little bit bulkier but has a sweet removable hood and kangaroo pocket to keep your hands toasty

Stick with First Lite or Sitka for pants and base layers, try not to buy Kuiu

I don't know much about Pnuma

            Also, check out Braken Wear

Those are completely different jackets though.. The Pnuma is synthetic so u never have to worry about it losing performance when it gets wet. The Kuiu has downtek, which holds off water better than regular down, but is still weak vs water. The Kuiu jacket is not an outer layer unless u are just sitting on a rock. It's way too fragile. You touch one bush and it's gonna rip. The Pnuma is meant to wear anywhere. So... There's a reason the weights are way different

I see what you are saying there but I don't want an all in one wear anywhere. I prefer to layer. The ultra down stays in the pack most of the time, when I am more stationary it comes out.
