Collin County Bowhunters 2011 Schedule Is Up

We have just posted the 2011 Shoot Schedule on our Website at collincountybowhunters.org . We have made a lot of changes for the coming year that I think most everyone will really like.
Some of the highlights are:
1.We reduced our annnual Membership Dues to $50 for individuals/families.
2. We are changing our shoot format to 30 targets to be shot all in one round so that shooters will not have to walk the course twice as we have done in the past. This should make it much easier on everyone, especially when its extremely hot outside.
3.We have added an ASA Qualifier on July 2-3, which is the last Qualifier in the East Zone before the State Shoot.
4. We are going to have a Deerman True Hunting Experience tournament on April 2-3 which will be a really fun tournament and totally different from most 3D shoots. To get more details, go to deermanstheworld.homestead.com
5. We will start counting high 12's or center 12's at all of our regular club shoots. We have never counted 12's before and we did this at the request of many of you guys who normally shoot ASA.

We are looking forward to a great season and are hoping to see a lot of you guys there.

THE is excited to have this club on board with us this year. I hope you all will attend their Deerman's THE 3D shoot. As well as many of their other events as well. Whether, you look at 3D as hunting practice or as just a target game we have what you are looking for. Deerman's will challege the hunter with realistic hunting situations, and challenge the shooter with what could be the most challenging points game you have ever played. Caution there is a train wreck waiting to happen below our 15 heart area ring. A 12 ring that is 3/4 of the entire scoring area, and the Sliver of the liver for a 10 (on our basic broadside shots) oh yes and our staple a -5 for anything outside those areas.

But, be prepared for when the animal changes angles so does the scoring rings. If you shoot to kill the animal your score will take car of itself. But for those of us that get greedy there is no room for err. A minus 5 is waiting just out of that clean kill area.

We will shoot targets potentially 360 degrees, 60 degrees away, 60 degrees too, 45 degree away, broadside, and we are working on down hill/tree stand vitals as well. Don't be a skeptic until you come give it a try. Hope to see you there.
