    Nice rattler

    Ran up to the lease yesterday, to check the cameras and check things out. Heading back to camp we came up on this guy, a nice Canebrake. Most doscile rattler I've ever encountered, couldn't get him to strike for anything.
    Yes, he slithered away unharmed, too.

    That is one pretty snake, although i hate snakes.

      Beautiful snake! I encountered one clearing a brush pile blocking my view to the feeder in Normangee about 3 years ago. I actually kicked her out of my way and she slithered off never paying attention to me. I missed a bobcat that very afternoon at 20 yds...

                    As much time as I have spent tromping all over the woods in East Texas, that is the first one I've come across. Lots of Pygmy rattlers, though.

                            They have a conservation status so they are a protected species and in general are very docile.
