    PINS Memorial Day weekend?

How crowded will it get down there during that weekend? Want to bring my son down and do some fishing. Does it normally get pretty crowded? Should I look at another weekend to go? Or can y’all recommend another location that might not get too crowded. Coming from the Killeen area.
    Thanks

If weather is good, it'll get real busy, especially on the northern part.
But after 20 or so miles, I'd expect you'd be able to find some elbow room.
But if your looking for complete isolation, might try another weekend.

What do you consider elbow room? 100yds or more I’d be happy

My elbow room on PINS is sight away. Like you can't quite make out what vehicle/make model it it.
So if you have 4x4, you should definitely find a space to fish over 100 yards either side :-).

Let that sand get powdery and the crowds thin out. Late spring and early summer - hard pack. Once the heat's on......the crowds will thin.

Plan MM 40 to really break out.

Are you going to put together a PINS trip this summer? If so when is it going to happen?

                        Someone needs to.
Seems like every time we try with a big group, weather turns bad.
I'm definitely game if a trip is planned.

I am interested in a PINS trip. Have never done it and don’t know the first thing, but we are moving to McAllen in less than a month. Would like to try it out and learn some things if people don’t mind a newbie coming along. Have kayak and willing to do my share.

The further down you get the thinner the crowd.100 yards is crowded. The prettier the water. Only two complaints about going far down.
                            1. how long it takes
                            2. how fast people haul butt thru your camp regardless of kids or pets.

If you are taking kids keep your head looking all the time both directions. You need to see the traffic coming mile or two away.

How long does it take? Is there any worries on fuel?
