What to do with rattlesnake rattle?

I have a rattle that I have had for 3-4 years that's been sitting on a shelf. What do you guys do with them? Any projects? Thanks

I always cut them off and save them until I lose them somehow.

Old timers would put them inside their fiddles, banjos and guitars. Was said to keep out mice and dirt daubers. The old fiddle I inherited has a set of rattles in it. Rattle has 23 and no button. Nobody ever knew who put it in there. Been in my family over 150 years. Way back then most houses weren't very vermin proof so maybe it works???????????

Same here! Have no idea who put the rattles in my old fiddle. I put the rattles of a biggun in my guitar. My dad told me the rattles would keep dust from collecting inside hollow body musical instruments. When it's played they vibrate and keep the dust from stickin' to the inside walls of the instrument... I suspect it's an old fable, but all our instruments had rattles in 'em.
