We had a great hunt this weekend with an awesome group of vets. These guys were a ton of fun and the hunt couldn’t have gone better. So blessed to be a part of this organization and getting to have these guys out on hunts.
Started off with a big gemsbok cull for Jason. He was looking for a freezer full of meat rather than a big mount so he chose this old warrior gemsbok. One shot with the 7mm and he was done.
After we had the gemsbok skinned and hung up, we had enough time to run out and check feeders before dark. We spotted a small group of aoudad out on a field and after looking them over, Dusty decided that one of the rams looked good enough to make the trip back to Phoenix so he grabbed the 25-06 and we got ready for a shot. After looking over the three rams in the group this guy stepped clear and he let him have it. Quick run to the edge of the field and a head in with a tree and this guy was done.
Finished up the night with an awesome dinner and started out the next day for a wide axis buck that Juan really liked from the trail cams. We got on him quick, but he wasn’t having it and broke off from the group and headed for the thick stuff. We backed out for a bit and then came around the other direction and caught him laying in a thick tree line. He stood from his bed and Juan hammered him. Great 32 1/2” heavy mass buck.
Another great weekend down and a fun one coming up next month with a group of very deserving young kids. Thanks for looking.
