Saw that the other day. Hopefully weather will be nice. It's 1 of 2 3d shoots I really enjoy. #2 being the rhinehart 100.

That sounds like fun. I had never heard of it. It looks like it's worth the 3hr drive and a hotel room.

Pineywoods the TAC usually has a hotel set up for special rates. The year we want it was the Hawthorn Suites right on service road of I35. It was about 12 minutes away from event. We looked out in the morning from our hotel window which was facing North and saw several deer feeding in an empty field. Too cool.

You go online, Google Total Archery Challenge or TAC for short and you can pre-register for a lower rate and also find out about hotel accommodations.

You will see shots fro 30 yds on out to 110. It really depends on which courses you walk.

Is this the one where they have the hale mary make it in a small hole on a target and win a truck. Something like 150 yards or so.

I am pretty excited for this. I have seen the Total Archery Challenge info and photos but have not yet participated. Planning on going this year to Natural Bridge for it. Is it an actual competition or is it for fun? or both?

Either or. You can pay to enter the competition or just shoot for fun. Last time I won and it was split the pot. Not many people payed for the competition so pot wasn't as big but hoping this year more people sign up so I can win more money lol

I have only had a bow for a couple of years now and in my 10 hunts have yet to get a harvest. My oldest son (17) has recently started target shooting with me in the yard. I want to get into 3-D shoots as I think it would be good for myself and the family to be better archers. Hoping to have couple under our belt before May. This one sounds Epic

and I'm staying away from the Western course this year. I lost to many arrows last time.

Really hope there is a big turn out. Been talk they may stop coming to texas because the crowds dont come close to what they do up north. One of my favorite shoots none asa to attend and try to always make it. The prime and mtn ops guys host a great shoot.

Bkvill I will be there Saturday. Im running in the Mtn Ops 5K that morning from 7AM-9AM. I think this will be a cool run, its through the caverns I think is what I read. Ill go straight from that to the shoot.

Plan on shooting all three days. Whoever is there let me know. I will most likely be shooting solo as all the guys I was going to go with had stuff come up.

Looking forward to seeing everyone out there !

Rackstacker Be sure to take an extra shirt to change after the 5k or atleast a towel to wipe the sweat. Just walking through the caverns about a month ago left me sweating due to the humidity.

jvela23 thanks for the heads up. It might be a miracle if I actually finish the 5K. This is my first one and have been training for about a month for a run. This one came up and its pretty last minute for me. I plan on shooting directly after it but might be a tired pup by the time the day is done.

Look forward to seeing everyone out there !!

I've been asked to work this weekend due to the twisters up north. Even though I'll stay in Austin. It's all conference calls but I'm still gonna try and do Saturday. If nothing else I'll let my boy shoot and we will do the locals course. We shall see.
