If you add them on to the Game Mgt Team I believe it runs $150/yr instead of $75

Hmmm, I haven't received an email or anything about receipt of my stuff. I'm wondering if I should have sent by certified mail.

If you haven't heard anything by the end of this coming week, shoot Vernon an email (treasurer). I'm sure they received it, it just takes time to process as every position is a volunteer one.

It was ripe! Went back the next day and did it again after I taped the holes and filled with bleach water.

Vernon was waiting until enough time had passed to allow all the, ummm, last minute stragglers to arrive in the mail before handing them over. There is still another batch to hand off to me and they will all be processed sometime this week when I get them.

Y'all don't forget that Friday is April 15.

I came out here today to fill up the feeder, check the camera batteries, and clear some brush along with building some brush walls to help with my snoopy neighbors. Here are some pictures I took before hand and I'll post some once I'm done.

The brush walls turned out quite well and now the deer have more room to move around neat the feeder. On the way back I got rear ended by a drunk driver about 10 minutes after I left hilltop. Thankfully we were both alright.

Seems like there is alot more activity here than on the hilltop forum so I'm gonna ask more questions and hope somebody will help out a newbie. Just got a nice feeder today so hopefully the weather will allow me to do some clearing and set it up next weekend. Concerned that I've seen mention of stickers and parking passes which I don't have. I sure don't want my feeder hauled off or anything because I broke some rule that I can't really find. I do have a team member number. I just want to get some corn going and see if the hogs will come in. I'll probably just put up a tripod once I get the lot cleared enough.

Also, where are the cleaning station and shooting range?

Did you make the meeting and "officially" join? If so, we can get your missing items. I'll be out Saturday as well, get with me and I'll help you.

You need to make a meeting. There you will receive your sticker and hangtag. Before you can hunt you will need to complete a work day. These are annual requirements by all.

So when is the next meeting? I see nothing on the calendar. I understand the hunting requirement but I don't intend to wait months for a meeting just to set my feeder out.

The meetings are on the calendar, I put them there myself. They are listed on the front page of the website as well. As mentioned 3rd Saturday in March, July, and September.

As mentioned in the email you received, you can get a sticker and hangtag before the next meeting, you just need to coordinate meeting someone on the board out there to get you one before then. It will be a while before I make it out there again, but several others live there or visit regularly. Someone can get you hooked up. Send an email to the admin address and I'll get you a number to call.

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention. The main reason for the stickers is to protect you from the deed restrictions. If you read those, you will see it says no hunting, no temporary structures, etc. So a stand violates that and obviously so does the hunting. Being a member of the club exempts you from that, so putting a current sticker on your feeder lets anyone know that you are authorized to have that stuff set up.

The hang tags are mainly to let people know what that truck parked on the side of the road is doing. Most of us will park well away from our set and walk in. A truck just parked on the side of the road is suspicious and often draws attention. There are people out there that will just go walking and looking for the owner or call the sheriff. *Most* of the time, seeing that tag will have them leave you alone. Not always though, trust me or ask around

Ran up for a bit today. Way overestimated my brush clearing capability particularly with my bad back. I'm gonna need to hire a crew. Have some nice trees but the vines are as bad as I have seen. On the plus side, tons of deer tracks right out front.

I went out and pulled cards today. There is enough pork coming in to keep the jihadist of the world in check! As soon as I'm well I will set a trap for them.

I did get a cool pic of a little cat with a squirrel in its mouth. I'll try and post it up later.

What did you (or others) do to get your lot cleared? I'm thinking maybe I should host a lot clearing party. Have a generator, margarita machine and plenty of coolers for ice and beer

TR,
It all depends on the size of your lot, how many set's you want to hunt and WHO will be hunting YOUR lot that should determine what equipment is used to clear your set. Mike and I had plenty of equipment but we mainly used loppers. I used a pole saw for 5 min on the backside of Mikes set.

Don't over think your spot. Set it up for you and your family. Don't worry about how others may or may not hunt it and that will help you greatly.
