Default Hilltop Lakes 2016-2017

I know it's early but I'm already thinking about and working/planning for the upcoming season.

With a GREAT deal of help from Ben Ben today, my setup is ready! We cleared @400 sq ft of yaupon, moved/replaced/filled the feeder, seeded two food plots, set up another stand/setup, cleared existing game trails, and put out several cameras. I wish I could hunt tonight because we buried some 20-30#'s of rotten moldy corn. Pigs are going to tear it up tonight!

Thank you again for all the work and gifts today brother Ben! Now, let's get you a few out there

Its my first just set up feeders lean too cameras about 2wks ago. Haven't been back since cause of work. Any problems with theft. That's the number one reason I want to go back besides check cameras and check activity

I haven't had any issues with that though I have cameras out everywhere looking for two legged as well as four legged critters. If I see something out of the norm, it gets reported.

The ONLY problem I have ran into other than a lack of time is a guy target shooting a block over while I was hunting We took care of him though.

BTW, welcome to The Hill!

I got all my notarized stuff in the mail on Tuesday. Actually had it all done last week, but was out of town and never got it mailed. Need to find out how to check to make sure they got it in time.

They are talking about setting up some times that we can help out some of the 19 members of a widows group by doing yard work. I'll post up when I hear more.

As far as receiving paperwork, I know they will check the box and if mailed out already, you will be good to go.

You aren't too far from me. I'm in Section 85 I believe. I passed someone yesterday with a hang tag as I was heading out. They were in a white Dodge and I was in a red one.

Yes it is. Be sure and include your section block and lot number in the memo as you do not have a hunter number yet

We killed that rack. I believe I still have three or two in the freezer to cook up at a later date. I'm ready to go sit now! I was gifted a solar powered "kill light" that will be going out very soon. After they get use to it, it will be lights out time for a few pigs! I do have a NV scope on my x-bow but would rather hunt them with the compound or recurve.

Well, I am officially an owner! Deed in my name is being overnighted for recording and my hunter paperwork has all been notarized and mailed.

Lots of clearing work to do now. Drove around up there the other day and saw a sign that said burn area back where there was some kind of maintenance barn. I'm hoping that is a place I can just go dump all the brush I plan to clear?

Also, seemed like there was a storage lot for RV's back there. Anybody know about that and what they might charge?

Next trip up I'm just planning to get my membership card and try out the golf course. Will also request contact info for my neighbors to see if I can procure one or two of those lots, preferably the one behind me so I can set up a trail of sorts from one road to the other. I need to have the maintenance guys mark my lot. Not big on the idea of wasting who knows how long trying to find those metal stakes on my own.

Amywhere between 1/4 acre to 1/2 acre are the average. Some buy adjoining and a couple have the 5 acre ranchettes.

I hunt 3 acres together with two setups. One over a good plot and the other at the feeders.
