My time with Saca is coming to an end.
I know I said it before but this little bow amazes me every time.
For not ever shooting it or anything similar, we get along pretty well.
With Christmas and new years being on a weekend, it really cuts my time short.
I wish I could have had Saca for an extra week or two, but thats not fair to the hunter thats up on the list (slayer).
I may still have a trip left. If I can get my stuff together at work, Im taking off half a day on Tuesday and hunt till Thursday.
Broadheads are sharp, arrow are tunned and Saca is ready to do its magic.
Its my last chance. Weather will not be great, but Im not picky.
It wil only be a matter of getting something into range.

Im last in line but I dont Think Ill be able to hunt with the Bow as Season winds down anyway. I've only Been able to hunt one day this Season as life is getting in the way. So if Chunky will allow someone can have my spot or just ship it Back to Chunky as it wont make much sense to ship it to me. Maybe next Time.

I just made it back from the ranch. I wish I could have done more. Conditions weren't ideal.
My 5 y/o was with me the whole time and we still had a blast.

I got another javi on our way out. But to make things better, my phone's battery died precisely when I went looking for him, so no pic. Sorry guys.
It was a hard quartering-to shot that went in the tip of the front shoulder and came out the opposite ham.
The little corn rat still ran a good 70-80 yards before giving up.

I did take a pretty cool picture of Sacagawea on a state division in Mexico.
This divides Nuevo Leon from Coahuila.

Once again, thanks for the opportunity.

Im very pleased to add a few animals and places to Sacagawea's legacy and travel.

I will clean it up and get ready to ship.

Over and out.

Congrats on the second javi. Looks like the Saga of Sacajawea is even cooler because of your time with her!

I am handing off the management of our bow to Bisch, as I will be out of touch much of the next year.

Please direct all questions to him, from this point on. I have given him authority to handly any situation that may come up as he see's fit, including the generation of the next list.

The only requirement is that the bow keep moving as that is the intended purpose.

Chunky the adventurer!

Hello boys & Girls!
I want to thank Mark (chunky) & Bisch for you guys doing this and giving us the opportunity to experience such a great bow. I received the bow a couple of weeks ago, so I apologize for getting my write up done sooner.
My name is Scott Johnson. I was born in Pasadena, Texas in 1971. I lived in the La Porte area until I was 12 years old. My family moved to Rye, Texas when I was in the 8th grade. Rye was a total change for me. We went from the city to the country. I spent the next 5 years hunting squirrels, rabbits, and deer and fishing almost every day I could. This was my first introduction to bow hunting. I had a BEAR compound bow. I loved shooting that bow. Time went on and I got older, found woman and other worldly objects that took my interest away.
1990 I met a beautiful woman, Kelly Stevens. This chase went on for the next 4 years until she became my bride in July of 1994. She blessed me with twin boys in 1998, Joshua Drew & Jared Matthew. This threw our world upside down. They were born premature and had lots of medical issues. This made the next 3 years a blur. As a way to release some stress, some good friends took me dove hunting. Wow! It was great to be back in the outdoors!
I joined my first deer lease in late 2004 and harvested a very nice buck. This got my juices going and wanted to know as much as possible. My buddy was a bow hunter and he asked me to try it. I was HOOKED! I took my first every bow deer in 2005 and my first bow buck in December of 2006. We shot every 3D tournament we could and loved it greatly. Then at a shoot at Cowtown, a gentleman was shooting a recurve and asked to shoot with us. I was enamored by this guy and his shooting; I had to try it out. I bought my very first recurve, a Samick Sage. I harvested a ton of rabbits and cacti as these are the only thing I could hit. I actually killed my first pig at Big Oak with Marty.
Now that you know a little about me, letís talk about Sacajawea. I got home and had a great box marked with my name sent from MEsquivel. I was pumped and couldnít wait to open it up. I took her out of the box and looked her over and was just blown away, she is gorgeous! Put her together went out to my targets and let an arrow fly! She hit dead target! I have shot her almost every night for the last week and Iím totally impressed! I cannot wait until the TRAD week at Big Oak, Iím going to be able to hunt with her and hopefully draw blood. We shall see!

Through a cool chain of events - (i.e. I got the bow from slayer at the TBH Trad Hunt at Buffs place because the next guy is local to me, and this would save him from having to ship her.) - I have Sacajawea for one week. I can't just let her sit in my house all week, so I got her out today and tuned her up with my arrows. She shoots my broadhead arrows like a laser, and is begging me to take her on a date! With all that done, I HAVE to go try to kill a pig tomorrow! I also re-served the string, as my nocks were waaaaaay loose on that string.

Wish me luck!

Default The Travels Of The Bow Sacagawea

Last weekend, at the TBH Trad Hunt at Big Oak Bowhunting, slayer brought Sacajawea to hunt with her. It had already been arranged that I was going to take Sacajawea after the hunt because the next guy on the list is local to me, and Scott would not have to pay shipping because I could hand deliver it to Sneaky. While we were there, we did a lot of shooting at the 3D targets at the practice range, and so I had to try out Sacajawea. I had her for a month almost 2yrs ago. At that time she had different limbs that were a bit heavier. I took her to a couple 3D shoots, but was never able to get anything while hunting with her. The new lighter limbs fit me perfectly, and I commented to Scott that I was sure I could kill a critter with her if I got the chance. Well, as fate would have it, Sneaky advised me that he would not be able to pick the bow up from me till after next weekend, sooooooooooooo, that was like a green light to me to try to make something happen.

So, I spent several hours today with one arrow with a broadhead on it practicing with Sacajawea. I spent all day yesterday shooting her, but she wanted to shoot high for me, and I did not want to go hunting with her till I figured that out. Today, I went out to the back yard, sat in my hunting chair, and played and shot till I thought I figured out how to keep my arrow on target. I decided to give the hunt a try. I went to the Fowler Ranch. It is a small high fenced place that is chocked full of pigs, red deer, and blackbuck antelope. Kind of just like Big Oak that Buff owns, but with not as many different critters. I was primarily after a pig, but would not turn down a blackbuck doe if I got the chance.

When I got to the ranch, I pulled the bow out to practice just a bit more. My first shot was dead on, as were most of the other shots I took. My confidence was high. All I needed was for the pigs to cooperate.

Frankie took me out and put me in a popup blind. I was worried because I usually can't shoot out of popups. Sacajawea is 4" shorter than all my bows, and after I got in, I figured I could make it work. Frankie fed the road in front of me as he left. The pigs must have not been too far off. It wasn't 30 minutes when I saw the first ones coming down the road toward me. They finally got in front of me, but I could not get a shot because there was always one behind the one I wanted to shoot, or he would not be at a good angle.

Finally, a nice boar got clear from the others, and at a good angle to shoot at at about 12yds. I drew, came to a full solid anchor, and let 'er rip! The arrow hit pretty much exactly where I was looking and was a complete pass through. I watched the pig run off and knew deep down that he could not go far. After a little while, I texted Frankie that I had shot one. He came back. We found the pig not 50yds from where he had been shot. I am confident he was dead in seconds after the shot.

Anyway, here are a few pics. He was a nice boar, about 100#.

I am honored to have been able to contribute something else to the legend of Sacajawea!!!! She is really a sweet bow!

Due to somebody on another forum asking questions about Sacajawea, I got to digging a bit, and looking up a few things so I could explain it. She has been on her journey for over 5yrs now!!!!!!

This is a really cool deal!
