Awesome shot on the dove. 1/1600 at f6.3 it must have been a bright day!

It was but I was still at ISO400.

Goes to show how fast those things flap their wings. Even at 1/1600 there's still motion blur. Really cool shot.

I normally try my BIF shots at a minimum of 1/2000

Thanks David. AI Servo, fast shutter, single point and this in picture. (I'm no good with my phone) The 10 fps help also. Of the 6 AF cases I use 3.

Thanks, Bill. I use Al Servo and single point most of the time now. Especially with back button focusing, since I can recompose for portraits and that kind of thing. The only time it doesn't serve me well is for distant birds in flight. I've been experimenting with nine-point, but haven't really had enough opportunity yet to evaluate.
