A hunter reported seeing a buck chasing a doe last weekend. Rut should be kicking in soon. As far as amount of corn to feed, My feeder is 12v and is set to go off at 0650 and 1700 for about 4 seconds. It depends on how far your spinner plate is from the funnel and strength of your motor and battery. My 55 gallon drum hold 300-350 lbs of corn and lasts just over a month. Tom

What's everyone doing with the hogs they are taking... Donating or processing them for their own use?

Sat for only the second time this season, once in the evening and saw nothing, and then this morning had a nice 8 pt. buck with about a 15" spread come in and eat a little corn under my feeder and then leave.
Looked like he was doing the same thing I was doing, and that's looking for a doe. Also in 6A.

If I killed a pig, I'd keep a smaller one. Give away a bigger one.

On a separate note, has anyone seen any pigs with ear tags?

I have a large boar with tags in both ears.

How much movement was there this morning?

Took another pig last night (sow about 130 lbs). A dozen pigs came in about 18:30 and I picked out the bossy one and hit her between the eyes. She went down like a sack of potatoes. I generally practice shoot and release on pigs but bring them in if someone wants them. Tom

Well my son and I went out yesterday afternoon. We literally git in the blind and about 10 minutes we had a large group of hogs come in. The boy took a shot at one but killed my feeder pole! Lol! Then about 45 minutes later a doe came in and he got her. She was an 8.5 year old that weighed in at 65 lbs. dressed!

Hunting tomorrow for some folks but new 21 day area availability for this week is not updated. Guess that shows how much they really care about the hunting program, Tom.

That's a nice older buck you have. I notice they like to go to the feeder in the mornings. The does are still avoiding my feeder, moving at a distance to the trees with acorns. Hopefully this weekend I can get within distance.

Thanks for the heads up on the schedule. With everyone open this weekend and cooler weather I expect the check station to be busy. Good luck to all. Hope to run into you.

Are your shooting Windows open during the week. I had the same problem last year. The change to a dark hole that wasn't there before made them skittish unfortunately I did not realize it til the end of the season

That's a good point, I'll remember that. But I'm not in a pop-up, just on the ground. I move to different areas based on wind. I got busted too many times in pop-up by the older deer. I'll be honest though, it's a lot harder when you don't have much cover.

I found that leaving the shooting window of my popup down and pinning some camo netting over the opening works best. Just a matter of cutting the shooting hole the size you need in the camo net. My popup is only 12 yards from my feeder and I haven't been busted yet even while video is being used. Tom

5q,. Where'd you hit the pig? I shot one nearly identical last night just before dark, briefly looked for the luminock but gave up. I aimed for the middle of body straight above the front leg, arrow went about half way in. Maybe it hit the shoulder on the opposite side, but I'm sure it's dead somewhere. I'd shoot them in the brain if they were close. Also seen that some folks shoot them in the neck. Maybe next time. Just hard to drop the bigger boars. Also learned to shoot them as they face toward the open, and not the brush as they're harder to find.

Besides that, had some smaller bucks and one huge buck come in last night. Wind was perfect for me, the drizzle helped too. Still waiting on the does, starting to get them on camera at the feeder, but they're random and at odd hours.
