I'll be there Sunday to scout. Then hunt Monday and Tuesday hoping to avoid the weekend warriors

I have been going out all over Val Verde County the past week and a half for work, but haven't seen any rut activity too much out there. Seen a ton of it between Kerrville and Rocksprings and down to about Carta Valley though... Seen several trucks parked at different areas, but have yet to ever see a deer out anywhere near the units.

A black buck would be great!! I used to hate the goats but I believe they help keep the deer calm... good luck out there!

I've learned just to stay away from 2. It's the only area I don't hunt. Too many **** people

So I just got back from Amistad a few days ago and man! It is an awesome place. I didnít venture far from the areas I had scouted on google maps but there was wildlife sign every where. I mean EVERYWHERE! Wife loved the place. The blind we took worked perfect. Yíall was right about some deer being weary of it but after a few days they didnít seem to care much about it. We had deer on us mostly in the afternoons. Even with hunters around us the deer were moving pretty good. I am definitely going back soon! Thanks for all yíall advice!

I heard one died, one survived. I saw that on the new last night.

Not the first plane crash out there. I found some aircraft pieces years ago, in one of the hunt areas. I eventually found a serial number and showed it to someone, they told me it was from a military aircraft.
