Default A few deer pics from this week...

I have had a tough last few weeks with family health issues and the recent hurricane. Lot of stress dealing with it all but I had a scheduled trip to South Texas for 5 days that just about did not happen. Had family taken to ER on Saturday afternoon. Luckily things were checked out and they were released. So I still was able to make my trip on Sunday. Spent time hunting but also taking some pics of the deer herd. I was able to hunt 4 different blinds and saw a lot of deer at some and not as many at others. But a few really great bucks showed with decent light or really good light for some pics. Time spent down south viewing God's creations is the best medicine for the soul.

Awesome pics! And I agree on looking at critters, especially big deer, on being good for the soul. I've never been ****** off when I've had my binos up!

Those pics were with Canon EOS 7D, Canon 500mm 4.0 IS lens, and Manfrotto tripod and 393 gimbal style head. Best pictures are taken at 60-90 yards. Some of these were at that distance while many were from 120-500 yards away. Deer movement was after sundown or before sunrise and the best sun angles so some of the pics are not good as I would like them to be. I am still learning to use the camera like it should be used.

I do not like to give the name of the ranch. Poachers and big deer do not go well together.
