I have another trailer question:
My 09 Z71 1500 crapped out last week, so I had to trade it in. New truck still has dealer paper plates, and no registration, and title wont come in until after my trip - so I don't want to take it across next weekend (even though we don't hunt past the 2nd checkpoint).

My 16' trailer is registered in my name, and I have the original trailer title and registration w/ me.

Can I haul this trailer across w/ my Dads truck (I would take his title and original registration, but he would not be with me), or will I run into issues with the trailer title/registration not matching the truck title & registration?

If you get the wrong person at the border or get pulled over by the police, they could cause you some grief since the truck is not yours.

Take current registration for the vehicle and trailer. Not the original.

I'm kicking myself on the timing of the truck purchase. It crapped out on the interstate w/ the wife and kids in tow - and I wasn't going to drive it another day.
Really throws a wrench in my trip plans, but I will probably just push my trip until my new plates & registration comes in the mail so as not to chance driving my dads truck across w/o him being there.
