It seems that every bow that I've ever owned got louder as it got older. It isn't loose bolts or anything like that, because I watch that stuff. It must just be wear.

Is it just me, or do bows get louder over time?

I think it's twofold...
1) Yes, they do get louder; axles loose their polish, bearings dry out and get debris in them, string tracks get dinged, limbs and limb pockets get worn and loose a little tolerance. This all adds up to a little louder bow both on the shot and on the draw sometimes.
Bows in this category can be muffled with a little maintenance; new oil in the bearings, new axles or polishing of the existing axles, cleaning and re-lubing the limb pockets and rockers helps immensely.
2) New bows are extremely quiet; so even if the older bow isn't a little louder than it was new, it seems that way when shooting next to a new bow that is just much quieter.
