Laid up missing dove season

I'm laid up recovering from a hip replacement

Happened today

The ball joint was arthritic and bone on bone and replacement was the only option

The anesthesia was a bear to bounce back

But here I sit

Watching shawshank redemption and stone cold wide awake

I swear worrying about this was the worst part

Now it's just a relief to be done

Sure did mess up dove season

I'll watch some college football tomorrow and hopefully go home Sunday

Have to walk on it in the morning

Off work for next 4 weeks

Maybe I can do some reloading

I'm 57 with a titanium hip

But I will be blasting next year

Good luck. Hip is supposed to be easiest replacement. I have a knee and shoulder. Worked out great. Just do your PT

Ain't missing much. Went to field on evening and sat in truck. Saw about a dozen birds all evening spread out. Never fired a shot or loaded gun. Birds got blown out for most of us

Hang in there and I feel your pain. I go in Wednesday for a total knee replacement! So much for the first half of the season, hopefully you and I both can get in on the second season if they have one where you live.

With that new hip you will be running to pick up your birds next year

My mom just had her hip done at 53. Sounded like it was easy money. Season just started. I'll bet you will get a hunt or two in.

Had a friend that had cancer in his hip when he was around 40, he has been through a couple.
