Default FSC Week 14

Ok for this week, I picked an old FSC that I thought was pretty cool. If you look, there is one small circle in the lower right area of the target. Print this off and take 1 shot at 12 yards, 5 yards for any kids that participate. Any position you want, standing, sitting, kneeling, etc. Off the paper is no score. Closets to the circle wins. This one will make you have to focus!!

If that were my bathroom tile I wouldn't need a bottle of Crown to make the room spin.

I'll start. CRM: may want to spell out whether measurement is nearest part of shaft to nearest part of center dot or center of shaft to center of dot.

Shaft edge to dot edge is 1-5/8"; center to center looks about 1-7/8"

Oops!! Good point!! Let's got with shaft edge to dot edge. Good shot!! It's been pouring rain all day here so I may not shoot mine until tomorrow.

Thanks. Rain passed through here. Put on Bean shoes and kind of waded out to shoot that after sun came out.

I'll try this one when I get back from Georgia on Friday. I've got a selection board to become a recruiter for the Air Force. Wish me luck and good luck to you all shooting this. Just looking at it makes my head swim. 😀

A little tougher than I thought it would be!! I couldn't even see it at 12 yards lol. I just guesstimated. Looks like about 2 5/16" for me.

Good shootin! Im printed. Is it allowed to highlight the circle or is that part of the challenge?

When I printed...my sons eyes got big and asked if we were gonna do a maze.

I'm gonna share a little trick for shooting this.

Not many people are able to tell the circle from the hexagons.
I can't, and I have 20/15 vision (with my glasses on).

The trick is to count intersecting sections to the circle.
In this case, if the target is mounted vertical, with the circle in the lower area, you count up 3 sections, and over 3 sections.

You still can't really see the circle, but you can zone in on that spot for your shot.

Hope that helps.

Rick

Great looking FSC target... thought I would drop in and say hello again, after being gone for too long. It will be a while before I can shoot these again, but will soon

Thanks CRM. What Rick said is what I did...ish. 3 hex up and 2 or 3 in. Still dang fuzzy in the dappled sunlight. Its a nice change of target. Im in for more.

HAAAAAAAAA !!!!!! Good one.

It's definitely a good exercise for learning to pick your spot when you can't really see anything to define it.

I usually try to see an imaginary golf ball where I want the arrow to go.
Yeah, I know. That's kinda weird. I wish I could imagine a 1" flo orange dot instead,
but for some reason the imaginary golf ball comes easy. Imaginary dots don't happen.

Rick

I looked at a bunch of old ones, as far back as 2014. I don't wanna ruin the surprise, but the next one I get to call is an old one that involves a little cardio before you shoot!!

I'd get signed releases on that one. Some of us older fellas could drop dead then you would on the hook for culpability in making Medicare less burdened.

I vote for this !!!!!

Get me close, and certainly don't make me physically stress before the shot.
Do all these things, and I'll still miss.

I wasn't going to post this, but with so few shooting this week I'll go ahead.

No, I could not see the circle from 12 yards.
I drew on the bottom right corner, then with the tip of the arrow I counted 3 up & 3 over. When I settled in that zone, I let her rip.

Using a 10 yard string crawl.
I normally lollipop aim the spot I want to hit, but in this case I put the tip point on to allow for the 2 yards of extra distance for the crawl.

I have witnesses.

Rick

Richard.
I used to do just that. Did it for years.

The longest run was shooting on Martin Archery's Pro Staff for 7 years.
I made enough money shooting in competition, that it paid for all of my shooting travel during the summers, plus paid for quite a number of hunting adventures.

That said, it's not all it's cracked up to be.
It becomes more like a job, rather than just good old fun.

I would rather it be just good old fun.

Rick

Edit:
P.S. - Thanks for the compliment.
I wasn't trying to brag. Just saying, you need to think long & hard before signing the dotted line where someone else has a hand in you shooting decisions.
