Default New to me bow!

Bought this used and it arrived today. RER Arroyo recurve - 62" 43#@28; my draw length is closer to 29 so I'm guessing I'm pulling around 45. Gorgeous bow - Cocobolo riser with Birdseye maple limbs. Shoots like an absolute dream! This is my first static tip recurve and I'm blown away by how smooth and quiet this thing is. Just in time for turkey season too...

Little different shape than I'm familiar with. Riser kinda pooches forward. Interesting.

For some reason I can't see the pics on my phone, but someone that shoots a widow saying the "Riser kinda pooches forward." Is kind of funny to me!!

OP, congrats on your "new" bow!

Congratulations! I love Cocobolo and birds eye maple!
You need to covet that bow, because Cocobolo has become really hard to get and as a result it has more than doubled in price!

Great looking bow! I tried to work a trade for one a couple of months ago but could not make it happen. Maybe some day. Enjoy.

Just curios, why do you call it static tipped? It looks like the tips work to me.

They don't bend/work at all through the draw cycle. And the unstrung profile is one of a serious 'static-tip-ish' bend at the tips. Regardless, I called it that because every search about the RER Arroyo recurve bow refers to it as a static tip. I personally don't really care - it's a great shooting bow.

Very nice looking bow! RER does advertise their bows have static non working tips and when unbraced the tips hook is more radical in appearance. They have long had the reputation of being excellent shooters.

That doesn't compute. Never said the widow isn't a great bow. Just not a great looking bow. Little blocky.

Dang Randy that is a beauty! I had one of the RER static tip recurves in the 3 piece at about those same specs as yours and it was a dandy. I traded it for a longbow and wish I had it back. It was smooth accurate and fast!

Enjoy!
