I have been hunting for a doe or a shooter buck since opening day and today I got it done with a nice big doe. I had small bucks come in almost every time I was in stand but never had a chance at a doe or legal buck till today.First I had the same small bucks I always saw come in and clean up the corn and about 30 minutes after sunrise a group of does came and checked on the corn but I never got a shot. The does went back into the woods but soon came back on a trail about 25 yards off. I stopped the first doe to get in my shooting lane and let the arrow fly. The doe ran 10 yards and just stood there for about ten minutes.I didn't know what was going on that it would just stand there and not fall or lay down because I was pretty sure I hit her. Finally the doe came running past a little closer so I could get a better look and I saw I had just barely grazed its back and it wasn't even bleeding. Couldn't get another shot off at that doe. I was disappointed but 15 minutes later another big doe comes trotting in with a small buck following. I stop the doe in my shooting lane at 15 yards and let it fly! Perfect shot and blood is pumping out both sides! Doe made it 45 yards and I watched her drop! This is my second deer with a bow.
