I've got something going on with my right leg. I get a shooting pain that runs from my hip all the way down to my foot. Mainly when I stand up from sitting. Got out of bed this morning and could barely walk. I had this about 3 years ago and went to a pain doctor. He did some kind of procedure on both sides of my back on the nerves. Evidently it was not a permanent fix. What is a better option for treating this? This crap hurts!

It sounds back related to me. I have had 3 back surgeries so I have some experience with the back, hip, butt, leg, and foot pain all related to nerve issues. I have had 2 microdiscectomy and one anterior and posterior lumbar fusion (coming up on 5 months ago). This one has been a bad recovery and things have been rough. The first two were pretty simple and I was back to work pretty quickly. I am finally going to try to go back on 11/06 for 1/2 days.

What I would do for starters is stretching exercises. Most men are stiff and not flexible. Shooting sensations blown the leg a lot of times is due to an irritated nerve that continues to aggravated by you lack of flexibility. I have had the same types off pains. Sit on the floor with stan 90 defeee angle with your knees flat if the floor, then have someone lightly push you from your back to where you feel you hamstrings stretch. Do this for 4-5 minutes 2-3 times a day. It has worked for me and many others
