    Buck with neck wound

Got a few close ups of a buck with a neck wound. I hope he'll survive it:

Wonder what the chances of something like that getting infected?

Looks like he's keeping it fairly clean.

"I shoot them in the neck. They never run". Oooooook. Lol

            Hope he survives. Looks bad.

man, you could about take a back strap and turn him loose!

it looks like he is healing up. its a long way from his heart.

Yes, he will make it. Seen several bucks with wounds like that make in the past years. Good thing is the time of the year with the cooler temps we have now, flies are not bad. If he was fevered I think he have been to water. He is eating at feeders so he is doing fine. Deer are tough. I have one buck that had a wound in the same area that is about healed over now.

Looks like a ballistic tip exploded on contact. Cheap core-lokts have never let me
                      down.

Wound from fighting. Right spot for it anyways.

Just looking at this buck, you could see the battle scars from a fight around that wound area. He is a pretty tough stud as you look at his well defined shoulders. He'll be fine and will be just as tough come next season
