    HALO (changed ?)

I use BCY .024 HALO serving in Black exclusively on my strings.

I ordered a new supply a few days ago, and have gone through two of the new spools.

    What I've noticed is this:

1 - the black isn't as dark as it used to be. It kind of has a silvery tint to it.

2 - It has been treated with something. It's a very slick substance, that feels similar to silicon spray, and will leave your fingers feeling oily after handling it.

Not complaining mind you. As far as I'm concerned, the slicker the better.

Just wondered if anyone else noticed it.

Found out from BCY today, that they did in fact treat some of their last spools of HALO with silicon.

I kind of got the feeling it was a trial run to test the waters.

Chris at BCY offered to replace the spools with the standard for me, but I told him no need since I like the treated stuff, and recommended they make it a standard practice.

I noticed that on some serving that I bought a couple of months ago, just figured that was the way was suppose to be, since it was the first time I had bought that type.
