Shepherd scope - what is it worth?

My brother has a Shepherd Scope and I am not familiar with the brand. He has had it for a few years in a box, mounted and shot about 30 rounds and swapped it out.

I need a scope for a Ruger I bought.

What is worth? He is thinking he paid over $700 new. I don't mind getting a good deal, but don't want to shaft him either.

What would be fair? I think he said it was a P1

Great technology (range finding reticle) when they were first introduced in the 80’s. Glass is about average ... not S&B quality but better than Tasco. You see fewer of them today because they don’t have the marketing budget of Leupold, Nikon, Zeiss, etc...
