Stuck with this old work truck.

I need opinions... I’ve got an old 2WD five speed 1999 F150 work truck. Has 200K on the odometer. It’s got scrapes, dents, and dings. Windshield is cracked. The AC compressor locked up, I don’t have the time to fix it. Has brand new AT tires, ceramic brakes, just changed the oil. I want to get some cash out of it because I just put money in it. I just don’t know what the best route is. It’s just sitting in my garage collecting dust. Should I scrap it or what? No point in paying insurance on it just sitting there.

Sounds like you’re sitting on about $2k. A lot better than scrap prices

If it runs, passes inspection, road ready and gets you from point A to point B then easily a couple grand. Ranch ride! Beats paying $15k-$20k for a SxS! Could bring more!

Put it up for sale. Somebody will buy it.

With that compressor locked up the truck won’t be getting any coolant because the belts not turning. It “runs” I guess.

Put a shorter belt on it. Bypass the compressor.

Yup. NAPA should be able to find you a part number for a truck without the ac compressor. Should be able to sell it for an easy grand.

Someone on Craigslist will bring a trailer and take it off your hands if you don’t want to put any more time/effort into it. But if the truck runs well aside from the compressor, fix it and sell the truck for more money.
