Buying a new one

I tried this and it fires up first push of the button now, but now the shut off switch wont engage....to turn it off I have to physically take out the butane canister. Any ideas???

I had the same problem. Fussed with the _ _ mn thing most of the afternoon and could never get it to work right. Buying a new one. Did get the starter to start on first clink by cleaning contacts as noted. Unless your really good at _ _ _ _in with things.......

take it apart and the back slide is probably not positioned correctly - it needs to have the small part of the upper black tab under the silver riser lever, then close (be sure it sits correctly on the slide underneath as well.)
