    Talley rings no good?

I love Talley rings. But, was at the gun store and the 'gunsmith' told me that Talley rings are garbage.

What on Earth is he talking about?

He obviously doesn't know what he's talking about.

They're great, and their customer service performance is second to none.

You know what they say about opinions.

His rationale was that they can't be torqued down as far or as hard as steel rings (Leupold or Warne).

I think they may have had some QC problems lately. Someone on here was having issues with a set a few months back.

Sounds like you answered your own question.

                I love the Talley rings.
                Have them on several guns.
Mounted correctly I had no issues
                That wasn’t corrected by them.

Ive not used their tactical rings but I’ve had great success using their one piece lightweight rings on several hunting rifles.

As to the gunsmith comment, most scope manufacturers state maximum torque values.

I sure like em and great customer service. I can’t imagine them being junk I would be curious what he calls good rings and bases.

You know what is really funny...he was under the impression that the lighweight rings sold for $10

I have had great success with their lite weight rings on multiple rifles. I do however disagree with their stance on lapping....

Just because you have a job title doesn’t make you knowledgeable much less an expert. I’d bet the Talley company specified a torque value based on calculations and/or testing rather than a hunch.
