Anyone have this model handheld GPS?


Garmin GPSMAP 64st is the other model I'm looking at.

I want it for back country hunts, and do plan on putting the onxmaps chip in it.

I recently bought the 64st. Hunting with two other guys who had touch screen units made me with mine was and my next one will be.

Are you saying your next GPS will be touch screen?

And over all are you satisfied with the 64st?

That is the other model I was considering.

Just now seeing this sorry, yes my next gps will be a touch screen model but the 64st works well

I like the 64st.. I find the basecamp software kind of difficult to use, and very slow.. One of my favorite features is that you can take a boundary map (say from a NWR), lay it in google earth as an image, turn up the transparency and then make the lines, roads, etc match then transfer it over to the garmin as another map layer

I also found a TON of topo maps online for free and imported those as well..

I ended up pulling the trigger on the 64st. Please with it so far.

May go test the weather proofing today. About had enough of being stuck inside.
