Texas Teachers, got a ? please.

I am currently a SEBSS (Social, Emotional, Behavioral Support Specialist) in an elementary school here in Lubbock. I have been a member or TSTA for a while due to just having legal representation in case I get sued or whatever. I deal with kids with emotional disturbances or what is classified as an OHI, ADD, ADHD etc. We are trained and certified to do a child restraint if warranted, but in todays world, even doing a restraint or whatever legally happens in dealing with these students could end up with me in a law suit, hence the legal protection, however small is needed.

Problem is I do not agree with what the TSAT/NEA came out with today AGAINST the nominee for the Supreme Court. I do not agree with this and do not want to pay my dues when they are up to the TSTA/NEA. I may be shooting myself in the foot, but are there any other Teacher organizations that are out there besides the TSTA/NEA that do not get this political?
Any recommendations or am I way off base in my thoughts?

AFT helped us out when we needed. I do not know their political views if they have any.

I was pushed into signing up my first year 12 years ago and then dropped it. There are other options for the same type of backing I just cant cite them off hand

My wife is not a teacher but is a director of Autism for a center here in Midland. She has some insurance for this type of thing, I will ask her what it is.

I am a member of TCTA. (Texas classroom teachers association). I have no clue on their political dealings, but you may check into them. Most teachers in our district use them.

AFT is great to deal with. Not sure about their political standings.

My wife is with ATPE. She chose them because they are not affiliated with a national organization. Because they are just in Texas, they are more conservative than most teachers organizations.
