I hear ya buddy, grew up in Western PA and if it's brown it's down was the mantra! Our freezers were always full of deer, rabbit, grouse, the occasional pheasant, squirrel and gamefish. I remember around 15 I picked up a bow and started hunting on my own. I would pass up countless little bucks throughout bow season, only to see them in the back of a pickup outside a bar during rifle season with several old timers oogling over it as the biggest buck ever...they never could figure why those 2 yr old basket 8's were the biggest bucks they've ever seen when a flash of horn was all it took for a rifle hunter to pull the trigger...
