I always hate the way they just pile the guns on top of one another for these photos. They are still personal property.

I love when they call 3 guns and 200 rounds of ammunition an "arsenal". This is why I don't live in California.

If you pay attention there is not one single assault type gun in that stash. Love how they call it a stash and not a collection. Many of the guns shown in the picture are in fact highly collectables like the 629's etc. As far as the person manufacturing guns, it's common for collectors to have milling and lathe machinery to do repairs and customizing from muzzlebrakes to drop and pull on shotgun stocks. Nowhere but Cali the land of fruits and nuts.

Read that earlier, looks like he sold some of them to the wrong folks. Makes you wonder if there was a setup or something that went down. He could own them, just not sell them??? Glad all mine got lost in the flood

You missed the point. It can be 1000 guns or just 3, the press still calls it an arsenal.

Hopefully the guy wasn't selling guns to people with evil intentions. If so then I'm glad he was caught. Sure are some nice ones in that pic.

I agree. What if it was a mistake and/or he is acquitted? Is LE responsible for any damages/scratches/dings? Never understood why they wouldn't just take some precaution.

"Saenz apparently was licensed to own weapons -- and there is no prohibition on the number of guns a person can own -- but the person was selling the guns illegally, according to police."

1. There is no such thing as "licensed to own weapons"

2. Selling the guns illegally most likely means he was selling them Private Party and skipping the part where you have to do it though an FFL. (CA Law for PPT of Firearms)
Which I've done a bunch of times when I lived in CA. LOL.
Here in TX we can PPT without the assistance of an FFL

That's probably how he got busted. Someone contacting him about a gun for sale and asking if he would sell directly and not go through an FFL

Yep, sounds like his worst offense was living in California.
If he was selling to prohibited persons, then that's another story. And if he was buying and selling on what appears to be a high frequency, then not being a dealer is a problem. That's an issue, where is that most likely moveable line, when you go from collector, to being a dealer.

An individual can buy/sell/own as many guns as you want and as often as you want. But in CA, all firearms sales must go through an FFL and the 10 day "cool off" period

More info and pics in the link. But this is the best one.

Just proves that no gun collection is complete with a pink camo AR(?) And that one mini 14 is never enough.

The picture I saw in the original news article did not show any AR's ot tommy guns, only pistols shotguns and a few .22 rifles.

If the guy was selling guns then I don't find that strange. All gun collectors I know of buy sell and trade all the time. It's part of what they do.

I wonder if Eric Holder is involved in this some how. I still want him to have to answer for his guns to mexican cartels. Fast and Furious.

Article today has him out on bond. Said he was selling guns outside the limits of a federal license he has. Curio and relic maybe?
