I have heard great things about Reveille but have not been yet. Seems like new bbq joints are popping up everywhere lately

Ok. I see where this is going....

FYI, when they did the top 50 a few years ago, wife and I did all 50. That's how I knew about Evie Mae's, which is ranked 9th in the state.

It's worth a flight at $20 worth of bbq for your Chauffeur.

L J s in brenham is good. They just give you too much food. And then you feel like you have to finish it.

The oldest one, per the list, opened in 2012. Is this the list for the best newest BBQ joints?

We had our company Christmas party at Loro and it was incredible and delicious (owners/chefs are Tyson Cole/Uchi and Aaron Franklin/Franklin BBQ), but its Asian smokehouse style BBQ, not Texas BBQ.

Not even one BBQ joint from Lockhart/Luling?

Feges is in a food court in Greenway plaza. Best **** food court BBQ I’ve ever had. I’d go there again just for the greens and Brussels sprouts.

None of those places are over 5 years old.

TX monthly is turning bbq into craft beers.

Never been to any of these places.

Corkscrew in Spring, Tx is one you will judge all others by.

These places are actually just restaurants that happen to have some bbq items on the menus
Catering to Hipster millennials
One of the places listed is down the street from me ( blackboard bbq)
The que is decent , but very expensive and caters to bicycle riders and tourists

All these places seem to rely on some sort of gimmick

Pass the Switch and go to your favorite high end steakhouse. It'll be much better food and cost about half!

Brotherton's is the jam. Texas Ruben is no joke- we go there a few times a month for lunch.
Loro is werid. Not a BBQ joint but was included b/c of Aaron (who's a good guy but this spot doesn't belong on the list).
John Mueller knows exactly what he's doing, check it out before he goes out of business (again).
I was in Alpine 2 months ago, drinking at Harry's talking to two folks from Marathon. Not that there's a ton of competition around, but Brick Vault seems to be the place to go. If you can make it on a Saturday don't sleep on the cabrito. Protip. Also, it's a brewery.
My buddy lives down the street from Pustka, says it's solid. This dude ****s, so I trust his call.

Only been to 2 of these....Muellers in Austin and Smoke Sessions in Royse City. I wouldn’t classify either in my top 10. That being said, while I’m not normally a fan of beef ribs, John Mueller definitely produced the best “beef” ribs I’ve ever had.

I've yet to try it. We've got a project on the Hardy TR so I'm right by there throughout the week.

Last time I saw the list, Tejas Chocolate in Tomball was on it. Finally braved the line and was extremely underwhelmed. Brisket was way past done and was mushy. Will have to make it into Corkscrew some day. Hopefully have a better experience.

John Mueller is a legend in Texas BBQ as is his family. Haven't tried his newest spot. His addiction to booze and alcohol have taken their toll on him. His sister screwed him out of his last spot. It is now LA BBQ and one of the top spots in Austin.

If you find yourself in New Caney try Rusty Buckle BBQ on Community Drive. Itís pretty good stuff. Their sides and gimmicky items are legit too. Donít leave without trying the redneck sushi.

Buddy ate at Convenience West in Marfa. Said the food was good but the place was full of couples. Men with men and women with women. Him and his hunting buddy felt out of place lmao.

He did say that Mustang Creek BBQ was better and cheaper.
