Taking the point off of a broadhead

Do any of you folks that re-sharpen your broadheads take the point off? What I mean is do you round it or chisel point it? I watched a youtube video explaining that on a two bladed broadhead you get better penetration with a rounded point vs a needle sharp one if/when you hit bone.

I haven't. I know some modify for a tanto point, etc.

            Sometimes I use a short arrow piece 8 "
Instead of the whole arrow just to use as a handle to sharpen on carbon shafts.

Always make a very small chisel point. Needle tips can roll over on bone his.

Tanto tip on Tuffhead single bevel. Dr. Ashby advocates the tanto tip as helpful in case of a bone hit.

Chisel tip and single bevel ...twisty twist

I thought about this last night. I started thinking about trying it. Then it occurred to me that it wouldn't be easy to sharpen with a double bevel. Single bevel would be straightforward, but aligning the edge on a double would be a challenge.

Then of course it hit me, Ashby was a single bevel advocate, so adding chisel is no big deal and worth the extra step.
