    Side Plates...

I've got an idea floating around in my head for sideplates on my bow.

I'm wanting to do solid white with engraving, but I'm wanting color on the inside of the engraving. I know I could DIY paint the dang thing, but I'm not exactly talented in that area. The real trick I'd think would be getting a paint that would stick to whatever I have the sideplates made out of.

A few people I've emailed said they couldn't do it.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Try Rob at Rattler Grips....he does some awesome work. In fact he is working on some for me.

I tried emailing him, and he said he can do the engraving, but he can't impart color into the engraving itself.

Give Ron a try. He can make anything you want.

Why not get a dark colored material to start with, either paint it white or laminate some white material over it (possibly linen?), then do your engraving through the white layer into the darker substrate?
